^ Cyberlink corp. is not a donkey cart company which is investing so much money and time to make their PowerDVD a simpler way of making 2d movies a 3d. Moreover, such 3d lcd monitors and TVs are designed to provide good quality for 3d movies which an ordinary monitor can't. And there is no need of buying 18000 rupees nvidia 3d glasses as one can prepare it for himself (cyan and magenta two colors are needed) or buy it from a ''khokhey wala'' for Rs 100. (but you know quality and colors won't be like nvidia's 3d glasses)
Then Samsung, Sony and other manufacturers are wasting their money in making hardwares specially for 3D, they should just bundle the software support into their existing hardware. it would be a wow .
3d movies are meant to be superior quality, high definition media and REAL enjoyment can ONLY be achieved with proper hardware. Cheap solutions can only give you a smell of it.

This post is a knowledge for all those people who think it's just a gibberish that a simple software can upgrade 2D movies to 3D at homes.
-This is the CyberLink PowerDVD 10 with advanced 3D feature:
-The movie is running and 3D is not enabled yet:
-Now, 3D is enabled for 120 Hz Time-Sequential 3D LCD which supports Nvidia 3D Vision. Now ordinary LCDs can't give the True3D results and we need especially designed LCDs which have the support for 120Hz frequency. To watch the movie with current settings, Nvidia 3D glasses are required. Ordinary 3D glasses won't work. Without Nvidia 3D glasses, the movie still looks like 2D but actually it is upgraded to 3D:
-Now, 3D settings are for 3D ready HDTV. We need 3D glasses to watch it in 3D. Without such glasses, results are like this:
-Now, I have set the 3D settings for MicroPolarizer 3D LCD. The results for 3D without 3D glasses are:
^KINDLY DO NOT LOOK AT THESE 3D IMAGES FOR A LONGER DURATION. THESE CAN AFFECT YOUR EYES.

Its basically a "different kind" of 3D when you are converting movies that were not shot in 3D. You can make any movie look 3D by doing the viewmaster thing: taking apart a picture frame by frame and moving aspects right or left to create the 3d stereoscope based on perceived depth. Mitsubishi has been developing a Blu-ray player that does this automatically, I would presume by "guessing" the depth of picture elements based on their focus or some proprietary algorithm.
The problem with this form is that it does not produce details in 3D because you get the viewmaster look: Everything is flat, but some of the flat things look like they are closer to you than others. If the film is actually shot in 3D, however, there can be a truer depth to the image.
For a movie to be a REAL 3d, it should be shot with 3d cameras, which will not only capture the image but the depth as well.
Read more:
I think what Mitsubishi is doing is going to failed. It's more complex than that to convert 2d to 3D. Imax way of converting is the best to my knowledge right now for converting 2D to 3D. What Mitsubishi is going to give people is a flat cutout with depth. While Imax techniques break down and separate characters and objects within the scene and giving it depth and a 3D of the objects.
But you are right about shooting it in 3D. Shooting it with a proper 3D camera will give it a more realistic depth. While converting it from 2D to 3D has it limit because of the time and resources. There's no way given the time frame to break down every single objects within 1 images and it's mindboggling to be doing it for 24 frames per sec. It's a very tedious process. You jsut need to cheat and decided what should be in 3D and leave out what you think doesn't need it since the human eyes might not be able to pick it up so you can get away with it.
I googled and there are many other softwares & scripts which can convert 2d to 3d BUT the converted media is only closer to real 3d or I would say look alike, but NOT real 3d. Its the same like upscaling a video file will give you better results but an original 1080p will remain original.

Some Points are as under:
Understand how true 3D films are made vs. conversion. Real 3D films are made using 2 cameras filming the events in a stereoscopic setup. That's one camera for each eye. The 2 images are projected onto the screen and the glasses filter out the opposite image allowing each eye to see its own correct angle.
The point is, the events are actually being captured in 3D with infinite depth of field or number of planes.
More... This should make a clear understandings between a real/true 3D to the converted ones.
This is important because the results of 3D conversion are a little like colorizing a movie. While the result of conversion greatly depends on the 3D author, the best hope is never as good as true 3D. A converted film will have anywhere from three to eight layers of depth created by an author who selects objects to exist in a specific plane. True 3D films have an infinite number of planes. In a true 3D film, objects can freely move in and out of an infinite number of planes and will look true to life.

^This all is correct. But I didn't have the 3D glasses so, I couldn't check the results of PowerDVD 10.
Moreover, powerDVD doesn't upscale the video only it adds HD effects to DVD movies. Looking at the second and third images posted above, you might think, the movie is bluray version but it's DVD version of G Force (images have the proof, look at the bottom panel).

^Proof of what??
Q1: Can A 2d be converted into 3d??
A1: YES, many softwares & scripts including PowerDVD 10 can do it.
Q2: Will it be a real 3D or can replace real 3D??
A2: NO
Q3: Will Converted media be as good as Real 3D??
A3: NO
(images have the proof, look at the bottom panel).
So, the bottom panel proves that a media can be converted, which I agree, but will it a TRUE 3d? NO, it wont be. Facts are posted above.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

^Now, you have started debating for nothing. You didn't read my post clearly, I was not talking about 3D, I was talking about DVD version of movie.

No hard feelings dude!!! We are just discussing and neither one of us has a masters degree on it.
I just tried to collect the facts and was only replying to this statement.

Why For OK?
Well, according to physics, everything on the flat page is 2D but we can draw 3D projecting outward on it which looks like 3D. It's just illusion of our eyes.
