Recently analog cable TV started in my area. Some times the picture quality is very good and sometimes its very bad.
I wanna ask you, is there any way to get it fixed?

Get it checked by your cable wala. To determine where the problem actually is. Whether its at your end or at theirs...
If its at their end which they wont admit by the way then there is nothing you can do about it.If the problem is at your end then you can either use a good cable that comes from the cable wala switch to your tv ..or install a signal amplifier.

signal amplifier?
will it require power?

Yes it requires power. It'll cost you 350-400 china made.
But if there is a sudden quality change on all the channels then its their system problem.

In my area hy have given some people free connection and in return they got power for their boosters installed on poles. Moreover they also giving may be Rs.20 to those who give power for their boosters.
Is it worthy?

well if you become one of those ppl whose services they use for powering their switches then you would be lucky cos you will get a good signal. And the switch at your place will further distribute the connections to your surrounding area.
But this could also be a nuisance if they install da switch in your house cos they will be at your doorstep everytime sum1 in your area complains about bad reception..cos they would wanna check the switch.

My cable wala wants to install an amplifier in our area so that we can have cable during power outages... I was thinking to get a connection from my home.. so that when my generator would run... the cable would be switched on too...
What I wanted to know was that how much POWER does an amplifier that cable wala uses needs? Will my 2.2Kva (old) generator be able to handle... When i asked he said it draws as much power as a charging mobile phone does..

I reckon it wont take up that much power, that i can estimate by the fact that if you hold a connected cable wire in your naked hand you do not feel any electric current/shock .. therefore even used in a amplifier it wont take up that much power.

Maybe that is because they are well insulated... But still if I may know the rating of the amplifier used, it would be more useful...

Even if you hold the copper wire inside, not even a tingle. However i am not encouraging you to try this as your cable maybe catching induced current from any other source and you may get a shock.
